ANY MOMENT NOW

The Film

A visual companion to artist Baby Yors’s soaring album, “VIVE!,” the dystopian drama “Any Moment Now” charts the unlikely connection between a disabled dancer and Earth’s last pregnant woman, whose surreal, interconnected fates–scored to writer/director Yors’s music–conjure the album’s themes of loss, mortality and artistic redemption, while providing an intimate snapshot of a broader message as big as life itself.

ANY MOMENT NOW

The Film

StOryline #1

Rosa is pregnant.

All women around her stop having their periods.

The entire human race stops having babies eventually, making her perhaps the last woman to ever get pregnant.

Her husband dies and she’s left with her daughter Matita.

One chaotic morning, Rosa slips and falls. She dies in front of Matita.

Now an old woman, Matita lives in an empty world.

She took someone’s place now that most properties have no owners.

She is lonely. She contemplates her life, her existence and the future of humanity.

StOryline #2

Marco is a ballet dancer at the peak of his career. He is determined, ambitious and obsessive.

He ends up in a surgery room after an accident. He can no longer dance.

His entire life had been lived around ballet, and without it he feels he has died. He slowly starts to experiment with other types of art expression but feels like life isn’t worth living anymore.

He has a surreal conversation with death (played by an eerie older woman). He visits his own hell, to then come out of it.

We find out that the story of Matita was a story that HE was writing in an effort to become a different type of artist.

He’s a poet, a writer. Perhaps starts to entertain the idea of becoming a musician as he picks up a guitar.
